My favorites Spice Hot Drinks recipes, perfect for at home weekends, easy to realize in some few easy steps and to enjoy them under a cozy blanket.
Spice Hot Drinks have always been my passion, even before they became fashioned, before Instagram and Pinterest, before we began to love food much more for the aesthetics than for its taste. But, let’s be honest, there are some of them that I wouldn’t have discovered without this crazy digital world.
American coffee is my big love but I love it even more if I can have it with a lot of milk and less coffee. I love big mugs to be hold while cinnamon scent goes all over the house.
That’s why, in the years, I’ve tried lots of Spice Hot Drinks, sometimes following famous recipes and sometimes adapting them to my taste.
Here you are some of my favorites:
1. Honey Bee Latte
I’ve discovered only recently that the hot drink I’m drinking since always, actually has such a cute name. It’s so easy that i’m sure you’ve already drunk it if you love honey, even if you didn’t know its name as I didn’t.
Honey Bee Latte
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 tsp honey
- 1 shot espresso
- 1 cup milk (it works also with soya milk)
- 1 pinch turmeric (my personal touch)
Instructions
- Put the honey in a mug
- Add coffee and mix together.
- Add hot milk with foam and mix again.
- If you like it, you can add my personal touch: a pinch on turmeric at the end on the top.
2. Cinnamon Dolce Latte
It has become my new big love, recently. Easier that than the famous Pumpkin Spice latte but so good as well. With that cinnamon scent that is perfect both for autumn drinks and for Christmas ones.
Cinnamon Dolce Latte
Ingredients
- 3 tsp maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp vanille (I usually don't have it at home, so I do it with out vanilla but the result its good as well)
- 1 shot espresso
- 1 cup milk (it works also with soya milk)
Instructions
- Put the maple syrup in the mug with spices and mix them together
- Add coffee and mix again
- Add hot milk with foam
- Finish it with cinnamon on the top
3. Pumpkin Spice Latte
One of my favorite Spice Hot drinks for autumn season that I usually drink at Starbucks and I have to admit that I’m not so used to cook it at home since it takes a little while. Anyway when I’ve decided to realize it by myself the results always made me happy. The worst part its just to prepare the pumpkin (since here in Italy we are not used to buy pumpkin in tin also because its not easy to find that way), so the best way is this: when I cook some meal with pumpkin I do some more of it and I keep it for my beloved drink.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp pumpkin
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ginger
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup milk (it works also with soy milk)
- 1 shot espresso
Instructions
- In a big mug mix together the pumpkin with spices
- Add coffee
- Add hot milk with foam
- Add some cinnamon on the top at the end
4. Chai Latte
When I was a child my breakfast drink has always been tea, then in the years I’ve stopped drinking it for a while and I’ve began again drinking it also thanks to Chai Latte. I have to admit that I’ve discovered it thanks to the digital world. Here on the web there are so many recipes but this one that I use I think its the easiest one. In case you would love to try a more complicated one you can fine a good one here.
Chai Latte
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup black tea Better if you make it with a proper one like the Masala Chai Black Tea.
- 2/3 cup milk (it works also with soy milk)
- 1/8 tsp ginger
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch nutmeg
Instructions
- Leve the tea to infuse with the spices for the time suggested on the packaging
- When it is ready, add to it hot milk with foam
- At the end add some cinnamon on the top
